Some of my earliest and most meaningful memories are of sitting with my grandma — by the fireplace or out on the front porch — sharing a cup of coffee together. I was very young, but even then, coffee felt special. It wasn’t just a drink; it was a feeling of connection and love that I didn’t experience anywhere else. Those moments stayed with me and quietly shaped who I would become.

As I grew older, my love for coffee only deepened. During times when life felt heavy or I was going through difficult moments, something as simple as a cup of coffee, a warm smile, or being treated with kindness and respect at a café could completely change my day. Those small moments meant more to me than people realized, and I knew I wanted to create a space that could offer that same comfort to others.

For as long as I can remember, I dreamed of opening a cozy café — a place where people could come together, enjoy an incredible cup of coffee, and feel welcome, seen, and cared for, even if just for a moment.

Three years ago, when I met my husband, I finally had the chance to share that dream. I showed him how deeply coffee is woven into my life, how much I care about community, and how important it is to create a space filled with warmth and heart. He believed in me immediately. Together, we began building this dream — learning, growing, and picking ourselves up along the way.

After years of hard work and meaningful lessons, we are so excited to bring a new and beautiful atmosphere to the Santa Monica Promenade.

Dragon Alley Coffee Shop is more than a café. We are a family, sharing what we love with our community. Our hope is simple: to bring people together, to lead with kindness, and to make someone’s day a little bit brighter — even if it’s just through a great cup of coffee and a genuine smile. We believe warmth, care, and quality make all the difference, and we can’t wait to join our new community.
